French Instructors

The Alliance Française de Philadelphie regularly seeks qualified instructors (part time). 

Salary: $23/hour

Cours de français général à temps partiel

Utilisation des méthodes et des documents pédagogiques de l’école

Respect de la méthodologie mise en avant par l’établissement et du découpage de niveaux du Cadre Européen Commun de Référence pour les langues et des progressions définies par le

service pédagogique

Préparation des cours, suivi et correction des travaux se rapportant aux cours

Tâches administratives liées à la gestion des cours : suivi des présences, indication quotidienne

des objectifs du cours, information sur les activités de l’établissement, respect du matériel, etc.

Profil et compétences requises

Formation de FLE et/ou expérience significative dans l’enseignement du FLE

Français langue maternelle ou bilingue (niveau C1 minimum)

Bonne connaissance des publics multiculturels adultes et excellentes qualités relationnelles

Sérieux/sérieuse, motivé(e), avec l’esprit d’équipe

Excellente présentation exigée

Flexibilité horaire (entre 10h et 12h, 17h40 et 21h45 et/ou samedi)

Titulaire d’une carte ou d’un titre de séjour sur le territoire américain, avec permis de travail

Executive Assistant - September 1, 2017

The Executive assistant will work along with the Executive Director and an intern on all the missions below

Salary: $13 / hour

Job Requirements: Must speak French and English - Schedule flexibility - Must be interested in the school and the cultural development of the AFP - Good organizational and communicational skills. 

Schedule: Mon-Fri 25 hours + events (Fridays: twice a month more or less, depending on the cultural season)

Saturdays: Once a month, every other month (immersion classes)

Every 3 months: Attend Saturday registration (noon to 3)

Stay later 2 weekdays (until 7:30 pm) to welcome students for a new session

Come the first Saturday of the session to welcome students

Oversees registration of incoming students and assessments of language proficiency

Meets with teaching faculty as a group

Orders textbooks, workbooks and other teaching materials as necessary

Upon requests prepares “certificates of achievement” for students

Maintains ongoing communication with students enrolled

Ensures office is clean and manages office supplies.

Organizes and coordinates events.

Creates promotional materials (basic graphic design skills preferred) and works with the media and the social networks

Ensures technology is set up for events. Be present at all events and make sure facilities and set up is ready.

Answers the phone. Take accurate messages. Respond to all messages, inquiries and requests in a timely and appropriate manner

Manages the internet site, including updates, blast email, uploads and newsletter,email list management, event list management, mail server management, membership list management

Receives responds, and relays emails and mail as needed

“Silent Auction Committee”

The first volunteering opportunity will be from April 15 to the beginning of July.

On July 14th, we will celebrate Bastille Day! Just like any other year, would you say….

Not quite! This year we have decided to give our community the opportunity to join a “Silent Auction Committee”. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at the Alliance Française at 5.45pm: we will be happy to welcome you as part of our new volunteer crew to help us pursue our mission: promoting the French language and French culture.

How can you help as a volunteer of the “Silent Auction Committee”?

Be present at meetings, submit ideas, bring your network of friends and contact your favorite places in Philadelphia (or elsewhere) that will forge links, beneficial for all, both in the short and the long run. This will contribute to finding new donors for the silent auction of our annual fundraiser.
