The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) is an official French language proficiency test administered by France Éducation International. It is used to assess non-native speakers’ level of French for academic, professional, or immigration purposes.
At the Alliance Française de Philadelphie, we offer all three
versions
of the TCF : TCF IRN, TCF Tout Public, and TCF Canada.
It is important to choose the right one depending on your goals.
The TCF IRN is aimed at all individuals over the age of 16 wishing to attest to their level of French for the following reasons:
- a request for French nationality acquisition;
- a request for a long term residency card;
- to validate the A1 level for the OFII.
Your certificate of “TCF Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité" is only valid to complete a request for French
nationality acquisition or the reasons listed above. You cannot use it for admission to a French university or to complete your request for
emigration to Québec.
Whether French is your mother tongue or not, it is important to be well acquainted with the style of the examination in order to succeed.
