Lupin: Conversation class based on the TV show

Practice your French and learn more about Arsène Lupin and French culture!

5 classes: From February 3rd to March 3rd

About the TV Show : The story follows professional thief Assane Diop, the only son of an immigrant from Senegal who had come to France to seek a better life for his child. Assane's father is framed for the theft of an expensive diamond necklace by his employer, the wealthy and powerful Hubert Pellegrini, and hangs himself in his prison cell out of shame, leaving the teenage Assane an orphan. Twenty-five years later, inspired by a book about gentleman thief Arsène Lupin his father had given him on his birthday, Assane sets out to get revenge on the Pellegrini family, using his charisma and mastery of thievery, subterfuge, and disguise to expose Hubert's crimes

How it works: We strongly recommend watching the first episode and getting familiar with it before the class. Then each week, we will talk about a new episode.

We will go over the vocabulary, the characters, topics raised, read excerpts of Maurice Leblanc’s novels and discover together the world of Arsène Lupin and its many faces!

For who: Students with a level A2 (206)  or more, who want to practice their conversational skills in a friendly atmosphere, who are curious about the world of Lupin.

Intensity: Not much homework required besides watching the episodes and reviewing vocabulary. We encourage participation to enhance conversational skills!

There will be no grammar, although the instructor welcomes questions when related to the conversation.
