Youssef Salem, 45, a Maghrebi novelist has always managed to miss his writing career. But the trouble begins when his new novel becomes a success because Youssef couldn't help but be inspired by his own family.
A film about lies within a family, about the shame and fears that religions can generate, a film about life in the south of France of a family of Maghrebi origin that shows a normal life of "average French people", with its qualities and its faults!
It is a magnificent Ramzy Bedia who plays Youssef Salem, this man who has trouble finding his place, "stuck" as he is between his family of modest and Maghrebian origins of Port-de-Bouc and the literary world of Paris where he begins to break through against his will while his editor would like him to feel perfectly at ease there.
