Intended for children from 18 months to 2-3 years old and their caregivers.

Jean Piaget, Swiss psychologist known for his work on child development, describes the foundations of language development during the sensorimotor stage (0 to 2 years), but the emergence of language is one of the major hallmarks of the preoperational stage of development, between the age of 2 to 7 years old. Therefore, it is important to immerse children from a very young age to the sounds of a language.

Caroline Charvieux- Herveux is  a French native speaker. Caroline grew up with an education open to the world and other languages. In her childhood, she was attracted to different sounds and accents. The first language she learned was German. At school, curious and sociable by nature, she was sensitive to languages and different cultures. Her career path and encounters led her to become a developmental psychomotor therapist in France, mainly with children. Her husband’s work gave her opportunities to discover the world with her three children. A few months’ expatriation to Mexico led her to learn Spanish, and a first expatriation to the United States gave her the opportunity to practice her English. Having been on the learner’s side on many occasions, she knows just how fascinating and demanding language learning can be. 

Since September 2024, Caroline Charvet-Hervieux is a teacher and educator at the Alliance Française de Philadelphie.
