Parkway Soirée

  • Friday, October 26, 2018
  • 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadephia
100 years ago, creative minds from France made their mark on Philadelphia with the realization of our grand boulevard- the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.  The Parkway is a major triumph in urban planning with an unmistakable French influence. Among its notable French designers were architect Paul Phillippe Cret and landscape architect and planner Jacques Gréber, who modeled the Parkway in the early 20th century after the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

October 26th is the actual date when pedestrians first traversed the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, end-to-end! Join the Alliance Française and many other Philadelphia based organizations for a great party full of music, dance, fun, and French themed activities.

Stay tuned for information about this big event- the wrap-up to the 14-month Parkway Centennial Celebration!
