The Alliance Française presents... La Fête de la Musique!
Fête de la Musique is a very important cultural event in France, known as
Make Music Day, or World Music Day. It is celebrated every year on June 21st.
The first all-day musical celebration on the day of the summer solstice was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, and by Maurice Fleuret.
It was first celebrated in Paris in 1982. Music Day later became celebrated all around the world.
This year, the Alliance Française de Philadelphie invites you to participate in its Karaoke Night at Le Pain Quotidien, 1425 Walnut St, Philadelphia PA 19102.
Food and drinks will be available.
