Let's talk about cinema!

During this time of quarantine, it's important to socialize and have fun! And it's even better when you can do so by practicing your French and sharing your love of cinema and Francophones cultures.

Everyone is welcomed to join our online meeting on Zoom.

First, you will watch the film in live with us. And then, the screening will be followed by a discussion led by an instructor.

It's a donation-based event (suggested donation: $10).

For Friday, April 10 we have chosen: A voix haute, la force de la parole.

By Stéphane de Freitas and Ladj Ly.

With Bertrand Périer, Eddy Moniot, Leïla Alaouf, Souleïla Mahiddin, Elhadj Touré…

"Every year at the University of Saint-Denis, the Eloquentia competition is held to recognize “The Best Orator in the 93”, a reference to the number of the unprivileged Seine-Saint-Denis circumscription. All students can participate, and prepare for the contest with the help of professional advisors including lawyers, slam poets, and film directors, who teach them the delicate exercise of public speaking. Over the weeks, they learn the subtle mechanisms of rhetoric, and will affirm their talents, revealing themselves to others, and above all, to themselves. With their new talents, Leïla, Elhadj, Eddy and the others contend with each other in the attempt to win this contest and become “the Best Orator in the 93
